The purpose of this group session is to explore the actual or possible social political value of teaching and learning critical thinking. Presenters will have 20-25 minutes to present research, with 20 minutes set aside for Q and A. Possible topics or themes may involve (but are certainly not limited to):
Democracy and critical thinking
Ideology and critical thinking
Liberty and critical thinking
Power/oppression and critical thinking
Critical thinking as an instrumental value
Critical thinking as an intrinsic value
