We invite submissions for the workshop Issues in Applied Analytic Philosophy. The label "applied analytic philosophy" is here intended to cover work that addresses politically relevant issues by applying methods and results from theoretical analytic philosophy, e.g. philosophy of language, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): the semantics and pragmatics of slurs; the pragmatics of generics and their role in generating and transmitting social prejudice; implicit bias; the metaphysics of race and gender; ideology-critique. Submitted talks will be about 25 minutes long, followed by 20 minutes of discussion. Submissions should consist of an extended abstract (up to 1.200 words) prepared for anonymous review, and an additional cover letter indicating your contact details. Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover travel-expenses/accommodation. However, successful candidates will receive a moderate travel-stipend of EUR 100 each. Deadline for submission to [email protected] is April 6. Notification of acceptance will be given by April 15.
