Details
In this workshop, presenters and participants will work through the challenges of method when one’s projects—whether focused on research or pedagogy—sit at disciplinary borderlands.
The presenters will speak to the research and pedagogical questions and challenges they encountered and the ways that innovations in transdisciplinary methods and approaches were central to how they addressed those questions and challenges. The first half of the workshop will explore their different methods, the collaborations that were forged to make these work, as well as the ways in which care as well as friction moved these projects forward in developing generative feminist methodologies. The second half of the event will invite participants to workshop their own research or pedagogical dilemmas, challenges, interests, and passions in collaboration with the presenters and co-participants.
There are two ways you can take part. (1) The webinar stream for those who would like to participate just as one would in conference setting (active listening, interacting through questions, comments) or (2) The workshop stream in which participants will take a more active role in the second part of the event.
The workshop stream will have space for 10 participants who are interested in workshopping their research or teaching ideas with the presenters and the audience as a whole. To take part in this stream, we ask that you provide the presenters with a brief description of the idea or central issue you want to tackle, highlighting either why a transdisciplinary approach might be sought or what the limitation(s) is that you see in conventional ways of understanding the idea or issue.
