The School of Materialist Research offers Intensive Study Courses (ISC) each Fall and Spring Semester. ISCs are taught by world-recognized scholars and practitioners of materialist research and are intended for graduate students, post-docs, early-career faculty, and curious members of the wider public. Courses meet online several times a semester and are designed and maintained by the professors, in consultation with SMR leadership. While ISCs are taught outside the formal university system, they’re shaped with the aim of supplementing university course work and, in certain instances, can count for university credit.
About SMR: The School of Materialist Research is an international platform, founded by the Center for Philosophical Technologies at Arizona State University, the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Skopje, the Department for Architecture Theory and Philosophy of Technics at TU Vienna, which, in cooperation with the Critical Inquiry Lab at the Design Academy Eindhoven, functions as a global online school combining education, research, and mentorship to advance academic study at the intersection of the social sciences and humanities (SSH) and the STEM sciences.
