Call for Abstracts

The Unifesp Philosophy Graduate Conference is characterized by bringing together graduate students and researchers in order to promote debates on core themes in philosophy and broaden approaches to the problems of our time. In this spirit, we invite graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from all areas and traditions in philosophy to attend and to apply for our communications sessions. This 2022 conference will take place October 24-27.

Submissions should contain an abstract with title, text of 250 to 350 words and 3 to 5 keywords. It should also follow academic quality standards, stating in a few lines what the theme, the aim and the main concepts, hypothesis, and ideas to be mobilized during the presentation are. It is expected that works submitted reflect significant stages or final conclusions of excellent research, dealing with relevant and well-defined problems. Abstracts/communications will be admitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese, about any philosophical subject. Only one submission per author is permitted, and only by current master’s or PhD students, or postdoctoral researchers in philosophy.

The number of communications is limited and there is no guarantee that all abstracts will be accepted, therefore please make sure to submit according to the instructions. Selected works will be presented as 20 minutes communications (maximum) in roundtables organized by common language and thematic affinity. At the end of each roundtable, there will be approximately half an hour for questions and comments. All roundtables will be in an online format, streamed on YouTube via StreamYard.

We seek equal participation from people of all genders and strongly encourage contributions from women and LGBTQ+ community in general. Overall screening of abstracts will be based on academic quality, but in case oversubscription we will also consider selecting works of researchers from groups underrepresented in philosophy.

International submissions deadline is August 12 and are to be made through the form on our website: https://encontroppgfunifesp.wordpress.com/call-for-abstracts/. Final list of accepted abstracts and roundtables schedules will be posted on September 10, on https://encontroppgfunifesp.wordpress.com/programacao/.

For further questions, or if in case of any problems with a particular submission, please contact us through the email [email protected].
