The Association for Informal Logic and Critical Thinking is requesting papers for possible presentation at our 2023 Group Session (in conjunction with the APA Central Division meeting) on the topic “Logic Diagrams”

Place: Hilton Denver City Center, Denver, CO

Time: Friday February 24th, 2023 from 7 – 10 PM

AILACT invites submissions for our annual meeting in conjunction with the APA Central Division Meeting (2/22–2/25/2022 in Denver, CO). The topic for this year's session will be on Logic Diagrams. Papers which address the use of using two-dimensional visual diagrams to model good inferences. Possible topics include:

  • using diagrams to represent specific forms of inference;

  • how to model rhetorical or conceptual content in arguments;

  • alternative types of diagrams to standard Venn diagram;

  • diagrams to represent non-classical or multi-valued logics; 

  • etc.

Abstracts of proposals (300-500 words) should be submitted to Thomas Brommage ([email protected]) by Friday, September 16th, 2022. Accepted papers will be considered for a special issue of Inquiry: Critical Thinking Across the Disciplines, which is slated to be published in 2024.
