Speaker
Dr. Madhusudan Penna is Vice-Chancellor and Professor & Dean of Faculty of Indian Religion, Philosophy and Culture, Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Maharashtra. He specialises in Yogashastra, Nyaya, Yoga, and Vedanta Philosophy. He was awarded the Sahitya Academy Award in 2019 for his mahakavya on Gulabrao Maharaj. He has two mahakavya, 10 laghukavya, and 30 translations and edited books to his credit. Dr. Penna is honoured with Honorary D.Litt by National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, for his unique contribution to Indian Philosophy. He has travelled to The Netherlands and was member of the Indian delegation to Canada in World Sanskrit Conference 2018. He knows six languages including German, and has made DVDs on Yoga, Indian Philosophy, and Sanskrit Literature. The Tirumala Peetham established by Bhagavad Ramanujacharya in the 10th Century conferred Shastraratnakara on him. He has received Maharashtra Government Sadhana Award, Pt. Satwalekar Memorial Award, Pt. Latkar Shastri Memorial Award, Pt. Ghatate Memorial Award, Somnath Trust Award with gold medal and title of best scholar, Sribhashyam National Award, and many others.
