CFP: Ted Chiang and Philosophy

David Friedell (Union College) invites you to apply to join a group of Ted Chiang fans working on a proposal for a book "Ted Chiang and Philosophy." The award-winning science fiction author Ted Chiang is on board to write an introduction!  

Those interested in contributing should submit an application, consisting of a short (500-word maximum) description of a chapter by November 1 to [email protected]. Chapters should be pitched at an introductory level and may be on any philosophical topic and how that topic relates to Chiang's writing. Chapters may include discussion of more than one of Chiang's stories.

Palgrave Macmillan has expressed an interest in receiving a proposal for this project. If accepted, we will ask for full chapter drafts by November of 2023.

This project stems from a related workshop https://philevents.org/event/show/94189. Ten philosophers in attendance have expressed interest in contributing, and so there should be availability for roughly five to ten more contributors.
