Details

The Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin is pleased to announce the 46th Annual Ancient Philosophy Workshop. We invite proposals on any problem, figure, or issue in ancient Greek or Roman philosophy.

Sessions will be held in person in Waggener Hall on the UT Austin campus beginning on Friday, March 31, 2023 and concluding on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Each paper selected for inclusion will be allotted 45 minutes for oral presentation, to be followed by both a brief response and open discussion. The keynote speaker will be Victor Caston (University of Michigan at Ann Arbor).

To propose a paper, send both (1) an abstract of approximately 300-500 words and (2) a separate cover sheetpreferably as PDFs, and in two distinct attachments to this box. The cover sheet should contain contact information and enable its reader to identify your abstract. The abstract itself should contain no identifying information.

Proposals are due by Friday, December 16, 2022.

Proposers will be notified of selections by January 13, 2023.
