The Second First Annual Boss Baby Symposium welcomes virtual presentations that engage in interdisciplinary analysis, interpretation, and critique of 2017 film The Boss Baby (starring Alec Baldwin). We will continue our rigorous pursuit of Boss Baby knowledge, further refining theories and interpretations, broadening the scope of our inquiry, and crawling boldly into the unknown. Topics may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Gender 
  • Metaphysics
  • Psychology and Psychiatry
  • Issues of aging and child development 
  • Natalism and antinatlism
  • Media studies
  • Aesthetics
  • Ethics
  • Culture
  • Intersectionality
  • Theories and Interpretations

Presentations should fall between ten and fifteen minutes in length. The presenter should be prepared to engage in a panel-style discussion of the material following their presentation. 


Please submit the following two documents for blind review:  

  • An abstract of no more than 250 words 
  •  A cover letter stating your name, the title of your presentation, institutional affiliation, and email address.

Abstracts are due by October 31st 2022. Decisions will be released in early November. The conference will be held virtually on January 7th, 2023.
