Details

The University of Texas at Austin’s Department will host its annual Graduate Philosophy Conference on April 21-22, 2023. Currently, the conference is scheduled to be in-person. 

The conference will feature 4-5 talks by invited graduate student speakers and 2 keynote addresses. The keynote speakers for the conference will be Samantha Matherne (Harvard) and Paul Boghossian (NYU).

We invite graduate students to submit papers in any area of philosophy. We especially encourage submissions engaging with the research interests of our keynote speakers. Each graduate talk will be followed by a brief commentary from a member of our faculty. All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process.

We expect to have a modest needs-based travel fund available for those otherwise unable to (fully) finance their travel and accommodation.

The submission details are as follows:

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 5, 2023.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Each paper (4,000 words or less) should be prepared for a 30-minute presentation, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.

Please submit (i) your anonymized paper (the name of the file should be the title of your paper), and (ii) a cover letter including your name, institutional affiliation, email address, the title of your paper, and an abstract of no more than 300 words to [email protected] by February 5, 2023.
