Details

Philosophy in the Wild will host its third annual conference in 2023, the theme of which is environmental philosophy, very broadly construed, with a focus on the topics of globalism and localism. This event is a small, outdoor, wifi-free (i.e., low-tech) event, focused on fostering philosophical community. It is only open to those whose papers are selected for presentation.

From July 14th to 16th, 2023, participants will camp at Poe Paddy State Park in central Pennsylvania. Camping through July 17th is optional. Activities will include (though will not be limited to) presentations and discussions, both for our whole group and in small break-out groups, and hiking (optional). In addition, Maja Sidzińska will give a lecture titled, "A Philosophical Introduction to Leopold Kohr." No prior camping experience is necessary.
