T. S. Eliot branded the Aeneid ‘the classic of all Europe’, but the importance of Virgil’s Georgics within the European tradition has often been overlooked. This conference will provide a venue for a long overdue reappraisal of the Georgics and their contribution to the history of art, thought, and literature. By bringing together scholars from diverse fields of study, the conference aims to foster new perspectives and theoretical approaches to this fascinating text.
