The European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP) invites contributed papers and proposals for symposia to be presented at the 11thEuropean Congress of Analytic Philosophy. The congress has twelve sections: 

  1. History of Philosophy, History of Analytic Philosophy 
  2. Epistemology 
  3. Philosophy of Science 
  4. Logic and Philosophy of Mathematics 
  5. Philosophy of Language 
  6. Philosophy of Mind and Action 
  7. Metaphysics 
  8. Philosophical Methodology and Meta-Philosophy 
  9. Ethics 
  10. Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law 
  11. Aesthetics 
  12. Philosophy of Religion 

Contributed Papers 

We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 100 words) and an extended abstract (400-600 words excl. title and references) through our submission system (Easychair) by  20 January 2023. To submit, please prepare your abstract for blind review, and save your extended abstract as a PDF file. Then follow the link to our submission System. Only one single-authored submission is allowed per author. (Please note that first time users have to register as users of EasyChair.) 

The total time allocated to each contributed paperat the conference will be 35 minutes, of which max. 20 minutes will be for presenting the paper and the rest will be for Q&A. 

Symposia/Panel discussions 

We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 100 words) and a full proposal through our automatic submission system by 20 January 2023. Theproposed symposium/panel discussioncan have any format, but they must include at least 3 and at most 5 speakers. The total time allocated to each symposium/panel discussion is 115 minutes, of which max. 70 minutes will be for talks and the rest will be for Q&A.Symposium proposals that include speakers from other disciplines are especially encouraged. 

The full proposal, to be submitted as a PDF file, should include (a) the title of the proposed symposium, (b) the contact details of the organizer(s) (who may or may not be a proposed speaker),(c) the names of all speakers along with a link to their website/philpeople page (or a short CV (max. 1 page)), (d) a general description of the topic and its significance (400-600 words, excl. title and references), and (e) titles and a brief description(max. 100 words) of each speaker’s talk. 

Timeline:

  • 20 January 2023 — paper / symposia submission deadline
  • 15 March 2023 (approx.) — notification of acceptance
  • 30 May 2023 — final deadline for early bird registration
  • 1 July 2023 — final deadline for speaker registraton
