There has recently been a growing interest in truthmaker semantics as an alternative to the standard possible-worlds approach in philosophical and formal semantics. We, the organizers, feel that research on the topic has reached a stage where it is opportune to offer a regular venue to share recent advances in truthmaker semantics and related approaches, as well as to strengthen the intellectual ties within the community.

This conference, which we hope is the first in a series of many, will be held on 5–7 June 2023 at NYU’s Villa La Pietra in Florence, Italy ( It is jointly organized by Kit Fine (NYU), Mark Jago (University of Nottingham), and Johannes Korbmacher (Utrecht University).
