Details

In this session we will introduce some contemporary arguments in support of moral pacifism, that is, the view that war cannot be morally justified (Soran Reader) and political pacifism, that is, the political movement that aims to abolish the institution of war and replace it with an institution of peace as a way of solving conflicts between states (Andrew Alexandra).  We will then discuss whether, or to what extent, these views can be ascribed to Kant.
