Details

The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University welcomes extended (750-1000 word) abstract submissions for the 2023 Midwest Ethics Symposium on the theme of Democracy and Philanthropy. We encourage submissions on democracy and/or philanthropy, but also welcome submissions on related topics in ethics and/or social and political philosophy. Our keynote speaker will be Emma Saunders-Hastings, assistant professor of political science at the Ohio State University and author of Private Virtues, Public Vices: Philanthropy and Democratic Equality.

Four abstracts will be chosen for 25-30 minute presentations followed by comments and a question-and-answer session. In addition, a fifth slot will be reserved for a 15-20 minute presentation by a DePauw University undergraduate.

Please submit your abstract at the link below by January 11, 2023. Contact Christiane Wisehart ([email protected]) with any questions about your submission.
