We are happy to present the BIPPA Conference on Women in the History of Ancient Philosophy, which corresponds to the 2023 BIPPA Regional Conference for Wales, the West and the Midlands will be a one-day event on Women in the History of Ancient Philosophy, featuring five talks from students, as well as two keynote lectures. Some of the topics we will explore include: the philosophy done by women ancient and medieval times, issues on ancient scholarschip surrounding women, and the representation of women and female figures in male ancient philosophers and thinkers. We are delighted to confirm that our keynote speakers will be Dr Katharine O’Reilly (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Dr Caterina Pellò (Nottingham).
The conference is to take place at the University of Bristol, on the 4th February March 2023, from 10am to 3pm GMT. The final programme of the event will be soon available on the BIPPA website (https://bippa.uk/bippa-regional-conference-for-wales-the-west-and-the-midlands/). While the conference is free and open to all, we kindly ask attendees to fill out a registration form in advance: https://forms.gle/GjCbEcKimfbYt9ks7 Online attendance is also possible, but if you would like to attend remotely, please drop us an email at [email protected].
