Submission deadline: February 10, 2023

Details

“New Currents in Teaching Philosophy” (Baltimore, MD, July 23–27, 2023) is a 5-day workshop for philosophy instructors at private colleges and universities. The program will explore topics and pedagogies that successfully attract students to the study of philosophy – including argument mapping, diversifying the philosophy canon, and reckoning with artificial intelligence. The workshop is led by Ned Hall (Harvard University) and other leading philosophers. It will be of particular interest to faculty members in small departments that want to increase enrollments and recruit more majors while demonstrating the relevance of philosophy for the study of other disciplines. Participation is limited to full-time faculty members at member institutions of the Council of Independent Colleges, subject to a competitive application process. All costs are covered by a grant, including a travel subsidy. See www.cic.edu/philosophy for more details and application instructions. Deadline: February 10, 2023.
