Submissions are encouraged in such areas as conscience and virtues (such as conscientiousness, courage, integrity); conscience and moral judgment; conscience and methods of ethical deliberation; cultural formation of conscience; moral sentiments (the “clear” conscience, “pangs of conscience,” “dirty hands”); civic aspects of conscience, including freedom of conscience, conscientious refusal, conscientious objection, civil disobedience; conscience and professional commitments; and whistleblowing.

Although the theme of the conference highlights issues concerning conscience, character, and culture, the Society encourages submissions on any subject or thematic area that advances the mission of the SEAC to promote ethical inquiry and teaching across the curriculum.

Submissions may include abstracts, case studies, pedagogical methods or demonstrations, and papers.

The Society publishes Teaching Ethics, and papers for conferences may be sent to the editors for their consideration for publication.
