Details

The Radical Philosophy Review invites submissions for a special issue inspired from the theme of the 15th Biennial Radical Philosophy Association Conference (2022): "...the Point is to Change it"

[Both general contributions and contributions from those in attendance at the conference are encouraged!]

Special Edition Theme

“The philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways. The point, however, is to change it.”

The past several years have been characterized by an onslaught of crises and catastrophes: a global pandemic, a relentless lethal battle against racism, dramatic weather patterns and forest fires, the culmination of an imperial tug-of-war between NATO and Russia, gun violence (both state-sanctioned and otherwise), a battle against reproductive rights, and continual, multi-faceted economic hardship. We have a lot to critique, from neglectful and exclusionary healthcare policies, to inequitable and gendered care burdens, to systemic racism, to industrial perpetrators of climate change, and the entanglement of all this with the profit motive of capitalism and colonial logics.

But now we shift our focus from critique to praxis! Because, along with our critiques, we are inspired to build anew as we divest from systems and structures that enforce injustice. Imagining a new world requires a bold and courageous imagination, one that is capable of conceiving radical new realities.
