The University of Málaga will hold the XII edition of the Research Workshop on Philosophy of Biology and Cognitive Sciences (PBCS XII) on 9th and 10th November 2023.

This call is addressed to graduate, Master, Ph.D. students, as well as Doctors who finished their dissertations during the last three years, working on the areas of Philosophy of Biology and Cognitive Science.

If you want to participate, please, send us ([email protected]) an abstract of between 500 and 750 words should be submitted. The main themes of the conference, but not limited to them, are:
- Consciousness and cognitive phenomenology
- Animal and non-animal cognition
- Active approaches to biology and cognition
- Biological and Cognitive Implications of Transhumanism
- Cognition, adaptation and evolutionary theory
- Philosophical issues related to SSE
- Ideas of explanation and cause in biology and cognitive science
- Models in biology and cognitive sciences
- The concept of environment and the organism-environment relationship in biology and cognitive science.
- The concept of individuality.
The call for papers opens on 16 February 2023 and closes on 16 April 2023. Each paper will be 20 minutes of presentation and an additional 10 minutes of discussion (in total, 30 minutes).
