Details

Heritable genetic modifications, which seek to change the genetic heritage of a human being and all their possible descendants, are increasingly being considered in biomedicine. But a risk now exists that eugenic ideology may return and that the lives of some children may be considered as unworthy of life. Thus, it is necessary to examine whether such modifications may undermine the present equality and coherence of civilised society.
