Call for Papers for The Virginia Philosophical Association 84th Annual Philosophy Conference

George Mason University, October 27th-28th 2023.

We welcome submissions in any area of philosophy from philosophers and graduate students. Papers should be no longer than 4,500 words. Please prepare the paper for blind review and include a brief abstract.

We particularly encourage submissions by philosophers from groups underrepresented in the discipline.

The submission deadline is July 1, 2023

All papers should be emailed to Chris Outlaw, [email protected], with 'VPA Submission' in the subject line. All submissions will undergo a blind-review process. 

Commentators will be solicited from those whose papers are not selected, so please indicate in the body of the email if you would be willing to be a commenter, should your paper not be accepted. 

This will be an in-person conference held at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. The conference will run from Friday afternoon, October 27, through Saturday lunchtime, October 28, 2023.

There is no conference fee or membership requirement, and Friday night's dinner will be provided by the George Mason University Department of Philosophy and the Institute for Philosophy and Public Policy.
