Details

The North American Society for Philosophical Hermeneutics was formed in 2005 in order to further the study of philosophical hermeneutics and to foster philosophical dialogue in light of difference. While honoring the rootedness of philosophical hermeneutics in the work of Hans-Georg Gadamer, the society believes that the force and value of hermeneutics lie in the development of dialogue that brings life to history and illuminates contemporary issues.

Our 18th annual meeting will take place this year from Sept. 21-23, 2023 in Alberta, Canada. The conference is hosted by the University of Calgary. Our keynote speaker this year is Dr. Francisco Gonzalez, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa.

There is an open call for submissions. Papers on any topic in philosophical hermeneutics are welcome. For consideration, please submit your paper of 3000-5000 words, prepared for blind review, by July 1, 2023 to [email protected].
