CFP: Online research platform 'fakeMatters'

Submission deadline: June 30, 2023

Details

www.fakematters.eu is a project hosted at the Husserl Archives, Institute of Philosophy, KU Leuven, and directed by prof. Roland Breeur and Drs. Elad Magomedov. It is an online research platform intended to spread and stimulate research into anything related to the phenomenon of fake (forgery, imposture, lies, propaganda, etc.)

We are currently open to contributions for our website. We accept any text that is (loosely) related to the topics of (dis)simulation, (dis)information, imposture, fakery, performativity, irreality, and so on.

Please note that the website allows us to embed video in your article (see for example the text by Corry Shores) or to provide limitless cross-reference through hyperlink (see for example Elad Magomedov's contribution “The Phantasm of American Greatness”). You are free to experiment and play with the possibilities. All contributors will also receive a spot with a short bio in the section ‘contributing authors’.

We are aiming for texts anywhere between 1500 and 7000 words. The essays are intended for both specialists and non-specialists, so we tend to avoid overly technical analyses. Otherwise, all formats are acceptable: review essays, conference talks, articles, responses, etc. If you consider contributing, but aren’t sure about the format, feel free to contact us to discuss it.

All submissions can be sent to [email protected]
Please add your current academic position and a short bio.
