Medieval philosophical accounts of personal identity are closely linked with speculation regarding the fate of the soul after death, helping to flesh out the medieval notion of what it is of us that survives the transition into the afterlife and why this and not some other aspect of what we take to be the self. The Society for Medieval Logic and Metaphysics is sponsoring a session on medieval philosophical accounts of the afterlife at the 2014 meeting of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, which, together with papers from the ICMS session will be published in volume 13 of our online proceedings and, pending acceptance, a separately title volume in our series with Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Applicants please send an abstract and title by September 15 to Alex Hall at [email protected].
