Conference Track Normative Perspectives on and Societal Implications of AI Systems, Crete, Greece, Oct. 23-28, 2023.

Track Theme

As AI systems continue to permeate various sectors and aspects of our lives, ensuring their trustworthy and responsible design and use becomes critical. This conference track aims to bring together interdisciplinary research from philosophy, law, psychology, economics, and other relevant fields to explore the normative perspectives on and societal implications of developing and employing AI systems. It will examine the challenges of setting domain-dependent minimal requirements for verification, explanation, and assessment of ML systems with the aim of ensuring trustworthy and responsible use of real-world applications. The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

• Legal and Regulatory Challenges
• Ethical and Psychological Challenges
• Economic and Societal Challenges
• Responsibility and Accountability
• Ownership and Attribution in AI-Generated Content
• Bias, Discrimination, and Algorithmic Fairness
• Perspicuity in AI Systems
• Holistic Assessment of AI Models

The track is part of the conference AISoLa5, which provides an open forum for discussions about recent progress in machine learning and its implications. AISoLA invites researchers with different backgrounds like computer science, philosophy, psychology, law, economics, and social studies to participate in an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and to establish new collaborations.

Conference date: Oct. 23-28, 2023.

Conference venue: ALDEMAR KNOSSOS ROYAL, Crete, Greece. Nightly rates for hotel rooms: 108 € single room all inclusive; 168 € double room all inclusive.

Conference fee: 580 € for professors/scientific employees, 480 € for students

The conference fee is in addition to the costs for the hotel and the travel to Crete. We will be able to waive the conference fee forthree speakers. Submitting an Abstract Deadline for submissions of abstracts: July 31, 2023
