CFP: Philosophical Society of Southern Africa Annual Conference 2024

This is a second call for abstracts to be submitted for the 2024 conference of the Philosophical Society of Southern Africa which will be held in Stellenbosch at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS): Wed 17 January– Fri 19 January.  The deadline for abstract submissions is 31 August 2023, however, we are happy to accept early submissions for those wanting to confirm early acceptance.  

Any philosophical topic will be considered, and abstracts should be prepared for blind review with the author’s details in a separate document or specified in the email.  Please send abstracts to [email protected].  We will announce the fee structure for the conference soon.

The CAIR AI 4 Society Symposium Series - 16 January 

We are also pleased to announce that the AI Ethics Research Group at the Centre for AI Research will host the first 2024 edition of this series, the day before the PSSA conference commences (16 Jan). There is space for 12 papers only. While we prefer a focus on ‘AI and Agency’ as a theme, any abstract on any theme related to AI from a philosophical point of view will be considered. Please submit abstracts of no more than 300 words to [email protected] by 31 August 2023.
