Details
Concerned Philosophers for Peace is looking for high quality proposals for papers to be presented at the American Philosophical Association’s Eastern Division Conference in New York City on 15-18 January 2024. The presentations will be part of a CPP group session. These sessions are intended to showcase the high-quality and importance of the work members of CPP produce to the broader philosophical community and, in turn, to aid in CPP’s recruitment effort.
This year, we will accept proposals on any topic relevant to the mission of CPP, that is, any work that contributes to a just global peace and the critique of militarism broadly construed.
Concerned Philosophers for Peace is the largest, most active organization of professional philosophers in North America involved in the analysis of the causes of violence and prospects for peace. Concerned Philosophers for Peace is committed to an inclusive and productive environment where all can discuss the study of peace and nonviolence and how it impacts our social and political lives. If you are interested in participating, please become a member on our website, peacephilosophy.org.
Please submit proposals of approximately 500 words along with a short professional biography to Graham Parsons at [email protected]. Proposals are due by 15 August 2023. In order to be accepted for presentation, authors must be registered members of CPP in good standing.
