Understanding has become an exciting topic in both contemporary epistemology and philosophy of science. However, it has a much longer and broader philosophical history. The goal of this workshop is to explore how conceptions of understanding differ across time periods and philosophical traditions, with the aim of gaining a deeper knowledge of these conceptions' similarities and differences.
