Description:

EACH and Virginia Theological Seminary will hold a workshop on the topic of Christianity and longtermism: the ethical view that influencing the long-term future of humanity is the top moral priority of our time, or at least among the key moral priorities.

Sub Topics:

Possible topics include but are not limited to:

population ethics, eschatology, existential risk, time discounting, decision theory, axiology, virtue, The Good, duties toward future people, utilitarianism, consequentialism, infinite ethics, or perspectives on any of the above from any Christian tradition.

Presenters:

We are accepting abstracts for papers until April 1 (topics and submission guidelines on external event website)

Attendees:

We welcome philosophers, economists, theologians, and interested graduate students.

We are expecting 20-30 people in attendance. The workshop will be read ahead. Papers will be distributed in May.
