Philosophy in Technology Conference 3rd Edition: Different perspectives

12th-13th of April, 2024.

We invite contributions to the 3rd edition of the annual event: Philosophy in Technology.

At the 3rd edition, which this year reached the status of a conference, we want to reflect on the import of philosophy in technology and engineering. In the workshop, we look for studies of salient philosophical dimensions, or underpinnings, of technology that demonstrate how philosophical insights

shed new light on what technology does or misses and how technology is influenced by salient philosophical assumptions. Specific case studies and analyses of the interdependence of philosophy and Technology is also welcome.

The presentation proposals for the workshop should be between 500 and 600 words (with references), submitted in the PDF format. Together with the presentation proposal, please send a short CV (200 words). In the subject line, please, “Presentation proposal: 3rd PinT Conference.”.

The presentation proposals can be sent to [philosophyintechnology[at]gmail.com]. The conference participation is free of charge.

The workshop will take place twice:

·         on the 12th of April in the hybrid form – both live at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and online (the Zoom platform),

·         and on April 13th, online only (the Zoom platform).

Important Dates:

The deadline for submission: 27th of March, 2023.

The acceptance of proposals:  send out by April 5th.

The schedule for the workshop: send out 8th of April.

The conference dates:  12th-13th of April, 2024.
