WEBINAR - Sandy Bay

Friday 15th March, 10.00-11.30,  Hobart, Tasmania time.

In this interactive webinar, EthicsLAB co-lead Dr. Anya Daly and Professor Shaun Gallagher will delve into the crisis of legitimacy in psychiatry, discussing Gallagher’s book “The Self and its Disorders” and advancing the idea that mental disorders are best understood as disorders of self, and that selves are best characterised as a dynamic pattern of constituent aspects. We look forward to exploring these ideas further and offering some potential challenges from alternative perspectives such as cognitivism and computational theories of mind. Audience participation is highly encouraged, and there will be a segment dedicated to taking questions from the audience.

Physical room: UTAS. Sandy Bay Campus. Physics Building 218
