This call for abstracts invites papers and posters that:

  • Explore the social justice tradition and its application to the health and well-being of the person who has dementia
  • Present research data that discuss the current state of knowledge regarding the causes and effects of dementia, its prevention and short and long-term care.
  • Discuss clinical and/or programmatic initiatives to foster health care equity for the person who has dementia.
  • Identify and discuss the social, cultural, and family issues associated with dementia.
  • Discuss philosophical and/or theoretical issues related to the health and human consequences for the person who has dementia.

McGinley-Rice 2024 Invites Abstracts that:

  1. The abstract word limit is 250 words.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted online by Sunday, May 30, 2024.
  3. The lead author/presenter will be notified of the decision of the Review Committee by on a rolling basis, and must confirm participation in the Symposium.
  4. All abstracts will be blinded for peer review.
  5. All presenter's names and abstract titles will be included in the symposium program booklet and website.
  6. All presenters are required to be paid registrants of the conference.
