We are excited to announce a call for papers for the 'Morals and the Limits of Markets' workshop, taking place on 11 & 12 July 2024 at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.

Workshop Focus:

The workshop will explore:

  • The limits of markets
  • The morality of decisions within markets
  • Paternalism

This interdisciplinary event will gather scholars from economics, political science, philosophy, and related fields to discuss ethical considerations surrounding market activities, repugnant markets, and the government's role in regulating these markets.

Confirmed Speakers:

We are pleased to announce the participation of the following distinguished speakers: Sandro Ambuehl, Constanze Binder, Stefan Gosepath, Rahel Jaeggi, Nicola Lacetera, Erik Malmqvist, Soren Midtgaard, Axel Ockenfels, Aksel Sterri, Robert Stueber, Colin Sullivan, Roberto Weber, and Sili Zhang.

Poster Sessions:

In addition to paper presentations, the workshop will feature poster sessions. If you wish to be considered for a poster presentation, please indicate this in your application email.

Funding:

All costs for speakers, including travel and accommodation, will be covered. Limited funding is also available for poster presenters.

Submission Details:

We invite you to submit full papers or extended abstracts (up to 500 words) by 31 May 2024. Please send your submissions to [email protected] and let us know if you would also like to be considered for the poster session.
