Details

Although contemporary metaethics has flourished in recent years, ancient Greek metaethics seems to have been neglected. This conference is designed to bring together philosophers working on contemporary metaethics and ancient philosophers working in ancient value theory in the hopes that we can start a cross-discipline discussion and promote future research on this topic.

Format for each session: 10-15 minutes for comments, 5 min response to comments, and then the rest for discussion.

The workshop is pre-read. Registration required. Free and open to all, but space is limited. Please register by June 10. (If available space is filled up prior to that, we will close registration before then and email to confirm everyone who is registered and has a spot).

This conference is twinned with a sister conference on the same topic, which occurred at Stanford in February 2024.
