Details

While many topics in metaphilosophy, such as intuition or thought experiments, have received enormous attention in recent decades, the central methodological role of argumentation in philosophy has been largely neglected. Moreover, the large and thriving interdisciplinary field of argumentation theory has also been mostly ignored by the philosophical mainstream. This workshop aims to make progress on both counts: by encouraging metaphilosophers to devote more attention to argumentation as a social-communicative activity, and by stimulating a fruitful dialogue with researchers in argumentation theory.
