Reading Workshop on Ottoman Logic and Philosophy

Scope: We will read closely and translate Ahmed Cevdet Pasha’s Miyar ı Sedad (Treatise on Logic) from Turkish to English and discuss the key concepts of the text. This workshop is designed for the students and researchers who would like to improve their Ottoman Turkish abilities and their knowledge of Islamic Philosophy through the discussion of a central text. During the workshop, each chapter of Ahmed Cevdet Pasha’s text will be read and discussed.
