We are delighted to announce that the third thematic school, "Conditionals in Paris - logic, linguistics, and cognition," will be held at INALCO (65 rue des Grands Moulins) during the week of November 4 to 8 of 2024.
The thematic school we are coordinating will be characterized by a robust interdisciplinary focus, with a particular emphasis on logic, cognitive linguistics, semantics, pragmatics and syntax.
The school's primary objective is to offer French researchers foundational training on conditional constructions; however, it is amenable to the inclusion of highly competent researchers from around the globe.
The faculty of the school will consist of renowned logicians (Timothy Williamson from Oxford and Hans Rott from Regensburg), cognitive linguists and pragmatists (Eve Sweetser from Berkeley and Chi-Hé Elder from East Anglia), and leading specialists in semantics and syntax (Michela Ippolito from Toronto and Rajesh Bhatt from Amherst). This exhaustive five-day training program will facilitate the dissemination and advancement of research on conditional constructions.
We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all individuals who are interested in contributing to this research endeavor in Paris and acquiring scientific knowledge. For further details, please visit: https://cololico-2024.sciencesconf.org/
