Details

Dear Friend and Colleagues,

The Journal of Buddhist Philosophy publishes original articles and book reviews addressing all areas of Buddhist philosophy. We understand philosophy broadly, and welcome work addressing Buddhist philosophy in all its manifold thematic concerns, spanning the entire range of its practice from ancient to contemporary times, and originating in all regions of Asia and beyond. We likewise welcome a diversity of theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and disciplinary emphases, including but by no means limited to those focused on the history of Buddhist philosophy, on the edition and exegesis of Buddhist philosophical texts, on the relation of Buddhist philosophy to questions of contemporary concern, and on metaphilosophical issues relating to the study of Buddhist philosophy across cultures.

The Journal of Buddhist Philosophy is committed to diversity and inclusion. As such, we work to ensure that the topics addressed in our journal are relevant to as many communities as possible, and we actively recruit submissions from members of groups under-represented in scholarly publishing. We publish guest-edited special issues on dedicated topics as well as unsolicited papers. All articles submitted and passing initial editorial review are subject to rigorous double-blind peer review by at least two experts.

In order to ensure that the Journal of Buddhist Philosophy lives up to its potential as a premier venue for work in the field, you are warmly invited to submit articles, book review requests, and special issue suggestions. While a new journal website is under construction, please address all correspondence—including submissions—to the incoming Editor in Chief, Rafal K. Stepien, at [email protected].

With best wishes,
