Philosophy graduate students at the University of Arkansas are excited to announce our second Philosophy in the Ozarks Graduate Conference. The theme of the conference is agency, broadly construed. While papers that relate to the organizing theme will be prioritized, we welcome quality submissions from all areas of philosophy. Each paper will be assigned a graduate student commentator.
The conference will be held in-person at the University of Arkansas on March 7th and 8th, 2025. In addition to five accepted graduate student presentations, keynote speakers will include:
- Dr. David Shoemaker, Cornell University
- Dr. Ashley Purdy, University of Arkansas
Papers should be:
- Prepared for anonymous review
- Under 3,000 words, excluding footnotes and references
- Accompanied by an abstract of roughly 250 words (for inclusion on the conference program)
- Suitable for 30 minute presentation
Separately, please include the following in your email:
- Name
- Preferred email address
- Institutional affiliation
Coffee, breakfast, and lunch will be available during the conference, and there will be a conference dinner on Saturday evening. There may also be the option to be housed with University of Arkansas graduate students. If you are interested in that option, please notify the conference organizers after your paper is accepted.
The deadline for submission is January 1st, 2025, and acceptances will be communicated by January 15th.
Submissions or other questions can be sent to [email protected].
