The Mind-Dependence Workshop will be held at St John’s College, University of Oxford from April 4-6, 2025. The aim is to investigate the metaphysics of mind-dependence. Papers could address structural issues in mind-dependence. Papers could also address specific mind-dependent phenomena – such as art, artifacts, institutions, law, gender, or race – but would draw lessons about how mind-dependence works generally. Papers engaging in the historical tradition are more than welcome.

Confirmed speaker are:

Simon Evnine (University of Miami)

PJE Kail (University of Oxford)

Muhammad Ali Khalidi (CUNY Graduate Center)

Asya Passinsky (Central European University)

Jonathan Schaffer (Rutgers University)

Elanor Taylor (Johns Hopkins University)

There are 9 slots for submitted papers. Deadline for submission is Dec 15, 2024. Send blinded abstracts of no more than 1000 words to [email protected].

Each speaker will have a maximum of 40 minutes for presenting their paper. There will be 40 minutes of discussion.

Travel grants of at least £300 will be awarded to each speaker from outside the UK and £150 for those traveling from within the UK. Lodging for four nights or an increase in the travel grant will also be included, as well as meals for the three days of the conference.
