Metaphysical Mayhem is a week-long, bi-annual graduate student workshop in metaphysics featuring a mix of student and professor presentations.

Our participating professors for this upcoming event will be Karen Bennett, David Builes, Louis deRosset, Ned Markosian, and Elanor Taylor. (Rutgers professors including Jonathan Schaffer, Ted Sider, Alex Skiles, and Dean Zimmerman will be in the mix as well.)
The event is open to all local graduate students (i.e. those enrolled in a philosophy Ph.D. program located in New Jersey or New York City).
Non-local graduate students must apply to attend. Applications require:
- a cover letter with a brief (1-2 paragraph) statement of your metaphysics research interests,
- a CV, and
- a brief (1-2 paragraph) letter of recommendation emailed directly from a professor in your program.
Please email these materials to [email protected], with the subject line “Mayhem application”. Applications received on or before 1 November 2024 are guaranteed full consideration.
This is a student event (e.g. a graduate conference).
