The Philosophy Department of CBU invites papers addressing the topics of wisdom and tradition in relation to apologetics, philosophy, theology and literature. Possible topics include:

·         Intellectual virtues (phronesis) and apologetics

·         Church Fathers as models of embodied reason

·         Apologetics and culture

·         Theological anthropology

·         Aesthetics and truth

·         Apologetics and the Christian tradition

Papers related to the general conference theme are especially encouraged. In addition, papers on any topic of apologetic or philosophic interest will be considered. Papers from all philosophical traditions are encouraged.

There will be a paper session for undergraduate papers with a $100 award for the best undergraduate paper, and will be presented at the closing plenary session. Undergraduates from all institutions are welcome to submit proposals.

The deadline for submission is January 31st. Submission of an abstract of 250 words can be sent by email attachment to Dr. Todd Bates at [email protected]. The abstract should be prepared for blind review, so in addition to the abstract, submissions should include a cover letter that contains your name, institutional affiliation, email address and paper title.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by February 14th.
