"OrderandHumanisticWorld"- Peking University Philosophy Doctoral Forum

As 2024 marks the "Year of Academic Excellence" at Peking University, we seek to further enrich the philosophical discourse by convening the inaugural Philosophy Doctoral Forum. This initiative aims to elevate the development of philosophy as a discipline, foster profound intellectual engagement, and broaden the academic vistas of doctoral students. It is a call for minds committed to navigating the deep currents of thought and engaging in conversations that transcend the immediate, touching upon the eternal.   Under the theme "Order and the Humanistic World," we extend an invitation to doctoral candidates from across the globe, encouraging reflection on the foundations of order, the human condition, and the myriad cultural and social frameworks that shape our understanding of these concepts. This forum is not merely an academic gathering but a philosophical journey — one that traverses the landscapes of reason and experience, seeking to illuminate the principles that sustain order in the world, and in our very being. The forum will also host faculty from the Department of Philosophy, who will share their insights into academic writing and career development, engaging in substantive dialogue with attendees.   This forum seeks to create a fertile ground for intellectual exchange, not only focusing on cutting-edge research but also encouraging a deeper reflection on the theme of "Order and the Humanistic World." Through keynote lectures, sub-forum dialogues, and academic salons, the forum will foster encounters that transcend disciplinary boundaries and national contexts. It will become a space where diverse ideas meet, clash, and coalesce, sparking new directions in thought and broadening the reach of philosophy, both within and beyond academia.   Forum theme •         Theme:Order and the Humanistic World Targetaudience •         Doctoral candidates in philosophy and related disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, from universities worldwide.   Date and Venue •         Date: November 8th - November 10th, 2024 •         November 8: Arrival of participants •         November 9-10 (morning): Academic seminars •         November 10 (afternoon): Departure •         Venue: Peking University
