The annual Syracuse University Graduate Philosophy Conference will take place on Friday March 21st and Saturday March 22nd 2025 on campus at Syracuse University, New York. The conference consists of 5 talks by invited graduate student speakers and two keynote addresses from faculty—one invitee from another university and one from Syracuse. The keynote speakers for this year’s conference are Martin Abreu Zavaleta (Syracuse University) and Rima Basu (Claremont McKenna College).
We are inviting submissions in any area of philosophy from graduate students who wish to participate in the conference as invited speakers. The submission details are as follows:
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 5th, 2025 (11:59 pm EST)
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Each paper should be prepared for a 20–25 minute presentation, and it should be no more than roughly 3,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography).
Please submit (i) your anonymized paper (the name of the file should be the title of your paper) and (ii) a cover letter including your name, institutional affiliation, email address, the title of your paper, the general/specific topic of your paper (e.g., Metaphysics/Fundamentality, Epistemology/Imagination), and an abstract of no more than 300 words to: [email protected] by January 5th, 2025 (11:59 pm EST).
We encourage submissions from members of underrepresented groups.
If your paper is accepted and you come to present at the conference, your presentation slot will comprise the aforementioned presentation, a commentary (your commentator will be a current Syracuse University philosophy department graduate student) as well as a 30-minute Q&A.
