philoSOPHIA: A Society for Transcontinental Feminism invites submissions for its 2025 conference, exploring the intersections of border thinking and feminist philosophy. We seek to explore how feminist thought engages with borderlands, understood not only as physical or geopolitical spaces but also as philosophical, social, and existential terrains that shape identities, cultures, and knowledge.

*Keynote Speakers:*

Mariana Ortega, Penn State University

Cynthia Paccacerqua, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley 

Laura Perez, University of California Berkeley

*Possible Topics:*

1. Border thinking and environmental justice
2. Transnational feminisms and global solidarity
3. Pedagogies and practices of crossing borders
4. Thought of the Global South and decolonial feminisms
5. Biopolitics and necropolitics of the border
6. Embodied and affective feminisms in border contexts
7. Migration, displacement, and refugee experiences
8. Intersectional approaches to border theory
9. Feminist epistemologies and border knowledges
10. Feminist Coalitions and Resistance in borderlands

*Submission Guidelines:*
Please submit your proposals as two separate word documents. 

-Abstracts and title should be 250-300 words, prepared for anonymous review in a Word document, named“ Borderlands + ‘abstract title’”
- Include name, affiliation, and contact information in a separate  word document, named “Borderlands + ‘name’”
- Submit to [email protected]
- Deadline: December 15, 2024


*Presentation Formats:*

- Individual papers (20-minute presentations)
- Panel discussions (3-4 participants)


-philoSOPHIA will host a number of invited workshops. In the presentation selections, priority will be given to proposals from those who are not already a part of a workshop, in order to ensure a diverse and inclusive program that provides opportunities for more participants to be featured.
