The notion of separability plays a crucial role in various arguments in the philosophy of physics, most notably, in an argument in favor of wavefunction fundamentalism---roughly the view that the wavefunction field evolving in configuration space is all that there is fundamentally. In this talk I explore the relations between separability and fundamentality. In effect, I suggest that separability entails fundamentality---at least for some (well-motivated) notions of fundamentality.
