Details:

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston invites submissions for our 2nd annual undergraduate philosophy conference to be held Saturday, April 19th, 2025. We will provide a limited number of small travel awards for students who need some assistance attending the conference.

We invite submissions in any area of philosophy, including but not limited to: Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Race and Gender, Social Ontology, Feminist and Trans Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, African Philosophy, Caribbean Philosophy, Indigenous Philosophy, Asian Philosophy, History of Philosophy, Ethics, Applied Ethics, Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy of Sports, Critical Theory, Continental Philosophy, Metaphysics and Epistemology, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Logic, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Mind, Aesthetics, and Public Philosophy.

We especially encourage undergraduates who are members of groups underrepresented in philosophy to submit.

Each session will involve a 20-minute presentation, 10-minute commentary, and 20-minute Q&A.

Please email the following to umassbostonphilosophy [] gmail [] com by end-of-day January 26, 2025:

·       A 2500-3000 word paper (.docx or .pdf) prepared for anonymous review.

·       In the main body of the email please include (i) your first and last name, (ii) paper title, (iii) paper abstract, (iv) institution, and (v) whether you would like to be considered for a travel award. The subject line should read: LastName UMB Undergrad Paper Submission.

We plan to notify accepted papers by February 23, 2025.
